I'm sorry, but this has got to be the worst idea I've ever heard. Airlines are proposing a standing room area of the airplane, with people "propped against a padded backboard, held in place with a harness." Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't air travel already uncomfortable enough?

it IS ridiculous (sp?)......but if you can imagine it, i believe it was proposed for the asian markets, where they don't seem to mind being packed in and don't care about personal space like we do....
